Here is the list for our CAPS COMMITEE. As you know, Logistics are still in short of people. So if you have anybody still interested, do let them know. We have to get all the positions filled up as soon as possible in order for planning to be smooth. THANK YOU

DATES
Alright. This post are the dates that things may be happening on. For those going for competitions, both Sprint and Polo, we will find a way to settle the trips. But do try to keep yourselves free.

Pre-expedition Trip : 25th August 07, Saturday

Sprint IVP : 15th & 16th September 07, Saturday & Sunday
Expedition: 17th - 20th September 07, Monday to Thursday

As for the location, we have said it during the last meeting, that it will be Pengerang

It is definatley much closer to Singapore and easier to plan for. I reckon that information about the food, accomodation and anything else we require will be much easier to plan for and i hope the planning starts soon.

Try to accomplish as much as you can before next week's Thursday meeting, which will be the last before revision starts. Do however, take time off to revise as well because study comes first. I'm not trying to sound like a mother but time-planning here is very essential as everybody's schedule will be pretty tight. As time progresses towards CAPS, there will be more and more meetings so please make yourselves free.

Change of Plans
Alright. Here it goes. June is too busy to actually come down with us this Sat, and next. So i thought. This is our committee. We do the planning, we make the decisions. Well. since it was previously suggested that we still head for Teluk Ramunia, which is pretty far away as you all know. I thought, we go for Pengerang instead. This way, we can sort of explore the area ourselves, which is more accessible through the net and by transport. So why not we finalise all this tomorrow during the meeting? That we organise this expedition to where we want it to be, with what ever we are going to do. Who's up for it?

Alright. First things first. I haven't got my passport updated yet.
It was supposed to be today, but ICA was closed. and it will still be until Thursday. Only on Friday can i access the building to renew my bloody passport, and news said that it may well of an overnight job, that we can only collect our passports the following week. So in this case to put it simply, i'm screwed.

But today, i met up with June. As most of you all know she is our adviser for this expedition. She told me plans for our caps, which was not good. The sprinters and polos may have competitions coming up during the September break right? She said this may affect our trip because if we were to row far, it may tire out our competitors and they may underperform. So, it was suggested by her that, either

1. We shorten our expedition
2. Shift the dates back till after the competitions
3. Carry on with the same dates but to a different venue; Southern Islands

After reading this, the seniors may not be as appealled to carry on with the expedition as they might have been there before. If it really comes to the case where we can only have a change of destination, we will have to live with it, like it or not.

It may be as serious as it sounds but it is really getting complicated with so many things up on my mind. I will update you guys if there is any changes.

Well, all is well to say that we can only hope for the best, which i have no idea what it will be.

Greetings to all of the Committee of CAPS INDIA.

Here's roughly the list of what each and every committee is supposed to do.
To all Heads, do spread the information to those under you.
Do meet up with your own section to discuss about the things that will have to be done.
Preferably as soon as possible(:

Organiser & Assistant Organiser
-Obtain permits from Singapore and Malaysia (TOP PRIORITY)
-Oversee progress of CAPS INDIA
-Help out in all departments in any way possible
-Make sure planning goes smoothly


Secretary/Treasurer (Jolene Yeo)
-Collect information from all sections of committee
-Find out how much is needed for activities, games, food etc
-List and state all items with price
-Tabulate and see how much each person has to pay
-Find out possible accommodations available


Creative Advisers (Matthew and Jolene Quek)
-Come up with a Theme for CAPS INDIA
-T-shirt Design
-Grouping of teams and identity for each group. (Flag, headband, wrist band, etc)
-Get a Camera and Video Camera (From school or yourself)
-Sufficient memory to last throughout the expedition

Chief Expedition Leader (Alex)
-Plot proper route and find out accessible points
-Safety measures to be noted (Channel Crossing)
-Item required (Whistles, light stick, etc)
-Formation of kayaks
-Number of boats required (Check with Logistics)
-Get Bum boats, Speedboats and contact drivers
-Tide table
-40 kayaks = 1 Bum boat, 2 safety boats (As quoted by June)

Logistics (Alphonsus)
-Work with all groups and await their list of items needed
-Purchase of items if necessary
-Transportation of food, kayaks etc to launch of points (Both to and fro)
-Get additional kayaks from other institutions

Food and Beverage (Teck Sheng)
-Plan proper menu
-Take note that there are NO refrigerators
-Find out food available on island
-Plan meal for about 100
-Work with logistics to buy items together

Activity Coordinators (Cara)
-Come up with activities on the island
-Games and visits to wherever
-Items needed for games (Work with Logistics)
-Make sure there are no spare time or empty slots on the island

Singlets designs/colours
Okay, i've made a deal with the uncle near my place about the FBT dri-fit singlets. I told him i'll be ordering about 80-100 of them and here's the best part.

WE CAN CHOOSE ANY COLOUR COMBINATION WE WANT!
LIKE HOW DARREN WILL SAY: POWER!


but i repeat, thats IF the colours are available.

if we decide to choose a custom made colour, it will take roughly 3 weeks to get it done. (the factory has to manufacture it duh)


so it is CRUCIAL TO GET THE SIZES OF THE SHIRTS ASAP

but if we so happen to get the sizes late, here are the colours that are already available:
